Founded in 1924, and re-formed as the “Tallahassee Community Band” in 1966, the Capital City Band of TCC has been associated with Tallahassee Community College for over fifty years. Capital City Band of TCC performs a fall and a spring concert in TCC’s Turner Auditorium, and regularly performs throughout the year in and around the community including at Springtime Tallahassee, at Tallahassee’s Winter Festival, at Westminster Oaks’ Fourth of July Celebration, and at the Tallahassee Senior Center.
Capital City Band of TCC is open to TCC students as a student activity and is also open to students (aged 18 and older) of other institutions and to community members. An audition is not required to join, but any person wishing to join should be able to read music and be able to play their instrument at an adequate level of proficiency. In most cases, band members must provide their own instruments.
Capital City Band of TCC rehearses Monday evenings from 7 PM – 9 PM, in Room CH 165, Communications and Humanities building, on the campus of Tallahassee Community College, 444 Appleyard Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32304. [Note: We are happy to be back to in-person rehearsals as of August 2021! New members are encouraged to join.]
