TCC Jazz Band

TCC Jazz Band serves as an outlet for instrumentalists to learn and to perform a wide variety of stage band music from traditional big band to more modern arrangements of blues, swing, light rock, and pop music. TCC Jazz Band performs a fall and a spring concert in TCC’s Turner Auditorium in addition to performing at a variety of venues and festivals throughout the greater Tallahassee area. Among others, the Band has performed at Tallahassee Museum’s Jazz and Blues Festival, Quincy Porchfest, Falls Chase Balloon Rally, and Old Time Havana Days. The Band has also performed for special groups, including TCC Foundation, TCC Alumni Association, Friends of the Library, and American Cancer Society.

TCC Jazz Band is open to TCC students as an activity, to students (aged 18 and older) of other institutions, and to community members. Due to instrumentation limitations, an audition may be required for this group. Band members must have the ability to read music, and a desire to have fun with music! In most cases, band members must provide their own instruments.

TCC Jazz Band rehearses Wednesday evenings from 7 PM – 9 PM, in Room CH 165, Communications and Humanities building, on the campus of Tallahassee Community College, 444 Appleyard Dr., Tallahassee, FL 32304. [Note: We are happy to be back to holding in-person rehearsals as of August 2021!]
