Winterfest Concert Canceled

December 1, 2018 Update

Due to the inclement weather and associated safety risk for participants, the festival portion of tonight’s Winter Festival Celebration has been canceled. This includes the four stages of live entertainment, children’s activity area, food vendors, etc. that was to begin at 3 p.m.

As the forecast for this evening continues to change, a decision regarding the status of the Jingle Bell Run, which is set to begin just after 6 p.m., and Nighttime Parade, which is set to start around 7:15 p.m., will be made later this afternoon. Updates will be posted on Talgov.comFacebook.com/COTNewsFacebook.com/COTParksTwitter.com/COTNews, and Twitter.com/COTParks.

2018 Christmas Concerts

Capital City Band of TCC welcomes you to join us for two December concerts! 

On Saturday, December 1, 2018, from 5:45-6:30 PM, we will play a concert at Kleman Plaza in downtown Tallahassee, as part of the City’s “Festival of Lights.” Come early to find parking and to find us. Prepare for heavy traffic.

Then, on Monday, December 3, 2018, at 7 PM, we play an indoor concert entitled “An Irving Berlin Christmas,” at the Tallahassee Senior Center, 1400 N. Monroe Street. Tickets are just $5 (free for children 12 and under) and all proceeds benefit the many services of the Tallahassee Senior Center. A reception follows the concert! Street parking is available in addition to a small parking lot behind the venue. Please help us spread the word.

Capital City Band of TCC invites you to our fall concert this Friday, October 12, 2018, at 7 PM at Turner Auditorium at Tallahassee Community College.

Admission is free and parking is easy! 444 Appleyard Drive, Tallahassee, Florida. 

Conductor, Mike Grant and Associate Conductor, Lisa M. Foltz lead the band in our concert program “From Sea to Shining Sea,” featuring Kirk Vogel’s “John Muir Suite,” Elliot Del Borgo’s “New England Suite,” Mark Williams’ “Fantasy on Yankee Doodle,” Vincent Persichetti’s “Pageant,” Vaughan Williams’ “Sea Songs,” Sousa’s “Hands Across the Sea,” David Bobrowitz’s “Midnight Fair,” Arthur Pryor’s “A Kansas Two-Step,” Leroy Anderson’s “Jazz Pizzicato,” and more!

Summer Reading Sessions

Summer Reading Sessions 2018

Capital City Band of TCC’s summer reading sessions will take place Mondays, August 6th, and August 13th from 7-9 PM.

Capable wind, brass, and percussion players are invited to come and play with us as we have fun sight-reading new tunes!

We meet at Tallahassee Community College, Room CH165, 444 Appleyard Drive.
